Welcome to the RISD CE Room, a true garden of pure imagination and collaboration! RISD|CE Interior Design faculty member Kyra Lawton has worked with 6 other CE faculty to create an innovative and lush children's outdoor-influenced bedroom where the sky is the limit.



Kyra Chomak Lawton has a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. She is a two time Eidlitz traveling fellowship recipient and studied in Europe & Scandanavia. She earned an MBA in entrepreneurship through a certificate program at Boston University. Kyra worked in architecture firms in Boston and San Francisco. Her interior design career began at the Orlando Diaz Ascuy design studio and her love of product design blossomed at William-Sonoma as part of the design team who launched Pottery Barn Kids. As a designer & entrepreneur, Kyra founded two architecture & interior design firms: Lawton Design Studio & Kyra Ayn Home KyraAynHome.com -both primarily focus on residential and K-8 school interiors. Acting as lead interior designer for the past 16 years, Kyra has a particular passion for kitchen & bath design and whimsical family friendly spaces. She is also a licensed Realtor which helps her find the perfect home for her clients to renovate and call their own.  Kyra also founded and is the creative director for the running inspired lifestyle brand Women Run Inc. Kyra lives with her three children in South Dartmouth, MA.




Michael Lyons is an award-winning artist and illustrator best known for his evocative watercolor paintings.  He was named one of Watercolor Magazine’s “25 Artist’s to Watch” and holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, scholarship membership to New York's historic Salmagundi Art Club, and membership at the Providence Art Club. Joye Whitney is the Founder and Creative Director of the Floral CoLab. She has worked across non-profit, education and floral design industries and is currently a Project Manager at DESIGNxRI, a marketing, economic development, and networking resource for designers in Rhode Island. She has taken and contributed to Continuing Education floral design classes at the Rhode Island School of Design and works as a part time freelance designer. Joye was recognized by Providence Monthly magazine as one of the “Ten to Watch" in 2016.




Elise Francesca Fargnoli is a painter and textile designer who has shown her work in Miami, London, Los Angeles and New York. She launched Francesca Joy, a luxury clothing/accessories brand in 2010 in Palm Beach, FL. She is currently teaching brand development and painting classes through RISD|CE.







Dennis DelSignore brings more than 20 years of experience to his work as Creative Director at Stoneblossom Floral and Event Design in Warren, RI.  He has worked alongside Preston Bailey and Daniel Ost and contributed to installations both domestic and abroad. Dennis has taught classes through RISD|CE and has presented at Rhode Island based gardens clubs, museums and private events.






Dawn Oliveira founded DOT Studio in 1985 and designed textiles for Polo Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne, Dana Buchman, Emanuel Ungaro, Echo Design and Stark Carpet. Dawn has taught textile classes through RISD|CE. Her Bristol, RI-based company Oliveira Textiles, designs and produces contemporary, environmentally considerate fabrics for the retail market.






Amy Bartlett Wright has a BA from the University of Maryland; Certificate, Scientific and Technical Illustration, RISD Continuing Education. An accomplished muralist and scientific illustrator, Wright has painted commissions for the Smithsonian Institution, the National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service and Museum of Science Boston. She is a member of the Society of Animal Artists, Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists and Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. She was a 2009-2010 RISD Continuing Education Teacher of Excellence.
